NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – Nearly 70 parish workers, clergy, volunteers and staff from Western Niagara County took part in a luncheon and volunteer training workshop Saturday at Antonio’s Restaurant in Niagara Falls. The workshop for Western Niagara County was held in preparation of the 2010 Appeal for Catholic Charities of Buffalo, which carries a goal of $10.5 million.

Most Rev. Edward U. Kmiec, bishop of Buffalo, announced to Catholic Charities staff today (Wednesday) his decision to appoint Sister Mary McCarrick, OSF, Interim Diocesan Director of Catholic Charities of Buffalo. She is the first woman religious to serve in the role of diocesan director.
