NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – Nearly 70 parish workers, clergy, volunteers and staff from Western Niagara County took part in a luncheon and volunteer training workshop Saturday at Antonio’s Restaurant in Niagara Falls. The workshop for Western Niagara County was held in preparation of the 2010 Appeal for Catholic Charities of Buffalo, which carries a goal of $10.5 million.

DEPEW, N.Y. – About 275 Catholic Charities’ volunteers, parish workers, clergy and staff gathered tonight at Salvatore’s Italian Gardens to hear stories from people who have been touched by Catholic Charities and to celebrate the 2010 Appeal, which is already under way.

LOCKPORT, N.Y. – A total of 50 parish workers, clergy, volunteers and staff from eastern Niagara County took part in a dinner and volunteer training workshop Wednesday at Tuscarora Inn in Lockport. The first-ever workshop for Eastern Niagara County was held in preparation of the 2010 Appeal for Catholic Charities of Buffalo, which carries a goal of $10.5 million.

Most Rev. Edward U. Kmiec, bishop of Buffalo, announced to Catholic Charities staff today (Wednesday) his decision to appoint Sister Mary McCarrick, OSF, Interim Diocesan Director of Catholic Charities of Buffalo. She is the first woman religious to serve in the role of diocesan director.

BUFFALO, NY – A total of 60 families served by Catholic Charities’ Holy Innocents Child Care Center in Buffalo are fortunate to receive a full-course Thanksgiving dinner, thanks to the efforts of members of North Presbyterian Church and Temple Beth Am in Williamsville, and Temple Beth Zion in Buffalo.
