Catholic Charities Appoints Robert Hasselbeck to Chief Financial Officer

Robert Hasselbeck

Catholic Charities of Buffalo has named Robert Hasselbeck to chief financial officer. He succeeds Mike Quinn who is retiring at the end of the year.

“We are deeply grateful for the expertise, leadership, and mentorship Mike has brought to the agency and his guidance laid a strong foundation for succession within our finance department,” said Deacon Steve Schumer, president and CEO of Catholic Charities. “Bob brings strong leadership, character, and business acumen to his new role and I’m confident he will guide our finance team with distinction.”

With more than 30 years of experience in finance and accounting, Hasselbeck has been with the agency since 2018 when he joined as a senior accountant. Since then, he has steadily advanced to roles of increasing responsibility becoming assistant department director in 2022, department director in 2023, and senior director in 2024. Hasselbeck holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Canisius College (now Canisius University).

A resident of East Aurora, Hasselbeck is the 2025 recipient of the St. Joseph the Worker Award for dedicated lay service to his parish.
