Catholic Charities Launches Winter Needs Drive

As winter presses on, Catholic Charities of Buffalo is launching a winter needs drive to provide warmth and comfort to vulnerable populations and those in need throughout Western New York. From Feb. 3 through Feb. 14, the agency is collecting gently used or new winter clothes including coats, hats, gloves/mittens and sweaters, and new socks, underwear, and toiletries.

“Many individuals and families struggle to stay warm and comfortable during the cold months,” said Magdalen McCulloch, AmeriCorps VISTA partner at Catholic Charities. “This drive will help to fulfill a critical need for winter items with donations distributed throughout Western New York, with particular focus in our rural communities. Thank you for your support in helping to keep our neighbors warm this winter.”

Donations can be dropped during regular business hours and placed in designated bins at the entrances of the following locations:

  • Catholic Charities Montante Administrative Center, 741 Delaware Ave., Buffalo
  • Urban Valet Buffalo, 620 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo
  • Urban Valet Orchard Park, 4081 N Buffalo St., Orchard Park

As Western New York’s most comprehensive human services provider, Catholic Charities’ programs and services include behavioral health services, basic emergency assistance, food pantries, education and workforce training, family safety and stabilization programs, and immigration and refugee assistance.
