Catholic Charities of Buffalo today announced leadership promotions within its newly integrated Communications and Development Department. Chuck Hayes has been named chief communications & development officer, and Kaitlin Jackson was promoted to director, agency communications.
“To create efficiencies and enhance capabilities when it comes to communicating the mission and services of Catholic Charities, it makes sense to connect our Communications and Development departments moving forward,” said Deacon Steve Schumer, president and CEO, Catholic Charities of Buffalo. “Both Chuck and Kaitlin are uniquely positioned to develop ongoing relationships to help foster both economic support and advocacy among our key constituencies.”
With more than 30 years of marketing and communications experience, Hayes joined the agency in 2023 as chief development officer and will take on responsibility for leading the integrated department. In this enhanced role, Hayes is responsible for strategic leadership and planning for long-term support for Catholic Charities through the execution of year-round annual and major gift advancement programs, including the annual Appeal, in addition to overseeing all communications aspects for the agency. Prior to his role with Catholic Charities, he served as vice president of marketing & communications for Elderwood Administrative Services. Hayes resides in Hamburg.
In her new role, Jackson will lead strategic initiatives to identify and develop opportunities to effectively communicate the agency’s services, as well as efforts to enhance communications among current and potential donors, volunteers and the community about access to Catholic Charities’ programs and services. She also manages media relations and internal communications and oversees the agency’s digital platforms. Jackson joined Catholic Charities in 2016 as communications and public relations specialist and she most recently served as communications and digital manager. Prior to her roles with Catholic Charities, she was editor of the East Aurora Bee. Jackson resides in Niagara Falls.
