Catholic Charities of Buffalo was recently awarded with the WNY Women’s Foundation P.O.W.E.R Seal, which stands for Positioning Organizations & Women to Excel & Rise. This program helps employers grow bold leaders, strengthen workplace culture, and move toward balanced representation at every level.
“Thank you to the WNY Women’s Foundation for recognizing Catholic Charities with the only P.O.W.E.R seal awarded this year,” said Tony DeSimone, president and CEO of Catholic Charities. “This designation is more than just an award. It speaks to a culture and a belief within Catholic Charities that we are not just committed to women in our workforce, but actively fostering an environment where women can thrive – as leaders and as people.”
As a P.O.W.E.R Seal recipient, Catholic Charities completed 30 measurable actions over the past 18-months, such as action items to create equitable work environments, develop health and wellness programs, provide educational opportunities around gender bias, and actively development leadership for women and gender minorities in addition to data tracking, quarterly learning collaboratives, and a final review. Catholic Charities joins an elite class as just eight other local businesses and organizations have been awarded P.O.W.E.R seals.
The WNY Women’s Foundation transforms systems, culture, and policy to create opportunities for each woman to thrive.
