Catholic Charities opens new behavioral health office in Lockport

L-R: Laurie Bragg, manager of administration, Behavioral Health, Catholic Charities; Rachael Considine, program supervisor, Behavioral Health, Catholic Charities; Justin Fax, practice director, Behavioral Health, Catholic Charities; and Molly Oliver, chief operating officer, Catholic Charities.

To better serve an increasing need for mental health services, Catholic Charities of Buffalo today announced it has moved its Lockport clinic to a new location at Heritage Square, 81 Walnut St. from its previous space in the Bewley Building. Following approximately three months of renovations, the larger space, which is closer to the city center and can better serve clients who rely on public transportation, includes a reception area and suitable spaces to ensure client privacy.

“Our behavioral health services continue to grow in Lockport, and this move was needed for not only more space, but also to provide more flexibility when it comes to our hours of operation and accommodating our clients’ schedules,” said Justin Fax, practice director, Catholic Charities Behavioral Health. “No one needs to go through challenges alone. Children, families, adults and seniors in eastern Niagara County can count on our trained therapists and psychiatric providers for help mitigating negative mental health symptoms and concerns.”

Recently, the Catholic Charities Behavioral Health team has had several clinicians train in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, an evidence-based approach for young children with disruptive behaviors, and this new location gives them the needed space to be able to accommodate this program, as well as the increase in referrals as a result of the Lockport clinic getting its adult licensure.

The Lockport clinic employs 17 providers and staff and is currently hiring for two mental health clinicians. The clinicians work with approximately 600 clients that had more than 11,000 appointments in 2025.
