Catholic Charities Women, Infants and Children (WIC) nutrition program recently relocated three of its Erie County offices, with a fourth move planned for its Jamestown office in Chautauqua County this week. The effected Erie County offices were located in Buffalo, Cheektowaga and Blasdell.
The new Erie County locations are Northwest Community Center, 155 Lawn Ave., Buffalo, rooms 311-312; Caritas Medical Arts Bldg., 2625 Harlem Rd., Suite 170, Cheektowaga; and 75 Caldwell Place, Lackawanna.
The Jamestown WIC site in Chautauqua County will relocate on Friday, Nov. 15, to 42 Dunham Ave., Jamestown. The current site is located at 200 Harrison St., Jamestown. Additionally, on Friday, Nov. 22, Catholic Charities will also move its district office to the Dunham Avenue location. Services at the district office include basic needs assistance, counseling, Domestic Violence Program for Men, and Our Kids Parent Education and Awareness Program.

“Our new Jamestown and Cheektowaga WIC offices are now located close to pediatrician offices, and later this month, our Jamestown office will be housed alongside other Catholic Charities programs, allowing us to refer and send a participant right next door to receive additional services,” said Judette Dahleiden, Catholic Charities WIC director. “In collaboration with the management at the Lawn Avenue site, we were able to relocate to a larger space enabling our staff to create a more welcoming environment. The goal is for all of our sites to be warm and welcoming for the participants’ ease and comfort, and these moves allow us to do that.”
Catholic Charities administers WIC in Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties. The program served more than 23,400 women and children up to the age of five in 19 locations in the three counties last year.
WIC offers nutrition education and counseling, breastfeeding support, prenatal and postpartum support, referrals and supplemental food vouchers. WIC services are available through application to married or single parents, foster parents or other legal guardians of a child under five. All services offered are free of charge.
