Catholic Charities’ Joyce Family Food Pantry & Outreach, 67 E. Peral St., Wellsville, is adjusting service next month because of the COVID-19 virus: the Easter Food Box will be given out with pantry clients’ April pantry visit, and extended hours will be offered during Holy Week (April 6-10). Also, clients are asked to call ahead for their April visit, and until further notice.
The Easter Food Box Distribution will not be a separate distribution this year; it will be included when pantry clients pick up their April food distribution. Individuals are asked to call the pantry at (585) 296-3757 before planning to come and pick up their April food distribution. Please note that this is new protocol for all food pantry distributions until further notice.
Extended hours during the week before Easter are: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, April 6 through Wednesday, April 8; from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, April 9; and closed Friday, April 10.
The pantry will resume its normal operating hours on Monday, April 13. Those hours are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
“We look forward to serving the community in the same capacity they have come to know, just with a slight twist this year in light of the virus outbreak,” said Eileen Nowak, Catholic Charities director of Parish Outreach & Advocacy and all Catholic Charities food pantries. “Our clients can still expect wonderful fixings for Easter dinner, along with their regular monthly provisions. We hope these extra hours in the days leading up to Easter are accommodating and helpful for clients.”
